I took the photo of Ray and Lindsay in my flat in Fulham , near Stamford Bridge . They had only just met but I had invited them over for a meal I think it was a vegetarian chilli , nothing very amazing. I wanted to capture the special bond between them which was so intoxicating to watch . You can see the love they had for each other clearly . Little did I know what an amazing cook Ray actually was back then ! I’ve got some lovely memories of staying in Cowbridge on Boxing Day , Ray spending hours in the kitchen, treating us to a splendid range of delicious dishes, what a selection there was … he’d even make a special breakfast the next day for my 3 boys . He would always put so much thought and effort into choosing Christmas gifts for all of us -they adored their Uncle and whenever I took them to see a Marvel film I would insist they stayed right until the end to see Rays name come up , only then could we leave ! Last year when Lindsay went to the Dungeons and Dragons premiere in Leicester Square I remember feeling in awe of everything he had achieved in films , I couldn’t quite comprehend how amazingly talented he was as he was so modest and with us he was simply Ray , energetic, funny and kind. But I do remember telling my sister “ Tell Ray I’m very proud of my brother in law “ and I’m so glad I did and he knew that. Thank you Ray for being so generous, kind and caring. We will miss you so much . Rest in peace my amazing brother in law . All our love , Sarah ( Lindsay’s sister ) , Osian , Caleb and Reuben xxx
